About your trip

WHALE SHARKS, THRESHER SHARKS, WALLS AND MACRO

Atlantis Adventurer - 7 Nights Visayas Safari onboard the Atlantid Adventurer, plus 3 Nights at the  Atlantis Dumaguete.

Diving in the Philippines

Scuba diving in the Philippines is world-class, offering stunning biodiversity, warm waters, and dive sites ranging from pristine coral reefs to WWII wrecks. With over 7,000 islands, the country is part of the Coral Triangle, often called the “Amazon of the Seas.”

Our trip will take us to:

Malapascua Island (Cebu) Highlights:

Thresher sharks at Monad Shoal
Nudibranchs, frogfish, and pygmy seahorses
Gato Island (white-tip reef sharks, tunnels)
Ideal for both macro lovers and shark fans

Apo Reef (Mindoro) Highlights:

Second-largest contiguous coral reef system in the world
Pelagics like sharks, rays, tuna
Clear blue water and drop-offs

The Philippines, located in the heart of the Coral Triangle, is home to a diverse range of shark species—from deep-sea dwellers to reef and pelagic sharks.

Sharks Commonly Found in the Philippines:

· Whale Shark (Rhincodon typus)

· Thresher Shark (Alopias pelagicus)

· Blacktip Reef Shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus)

· White-tip Reef Shark (Triaenodon obesus)
